Deep Fork Trail Information
May 2024
This page provides access to documents OBS has obtained or created regarding the completion of the Deep Fork Trail in northeast Oklahoma City. More specifically, we are primarily concerned about Phase 2, which runs between Kelley and Lincoln and has funding available. This crosses land (known as Red Ridge) owned by the Kirkpatrick Foundation, which trying to block building the trail on their property.

The OKC City Council voted to not try to enforce the agreement regarding trail construction they had with the previous land owner for the "Red Ridge" area, which is now owned by the Kirkpatrick Foundation. City Council promises a trail will be built eventually, probably along the I-44 corridor, but engineering plans will have to be done and approved before any work can begin on the trail. This will be a much more difficult area to place the trail and of course it will be next to a very busy Interstate highway. No date for completion, or even beginning engineering evaluation, has even been mentioned by the City Council to our knowledge.
