Sorry John... could not help myself... that slipped out.
BUT if you use the pedestrian button shouldn't you get off the bike and be a pedestrian anyway?
Personally I would avoid the intersection... or cross once I see a decent break in the traffic.

The light won't change for a bicycle or group of bikes. We either have to run the light (which of course is legal, but not always safe) or wait for a car to come and trip the sensor.

If it is a pedestrian crossing, why does it matter?

There are pedestrian crossing buttons for both east-bound and west-bound on NW 30 at Rockwell, but neither of them are accessible from a bicycle. The sensors will not cause the light to change for a bicycle.
